Whether you’ve been referred by your family dentist or you’re booking an appointment directly we have provided this important information for you.
How to schedule an appointment
To schedule an appointment please call our office at (902) 446-2326 or email us at perio@oceanperiodontal.com and provide us with times that are convenient for you.
If you are being referred by your dentist, please have your dentist fill a referral form and bring any x-rays with you and a list of any medications you are taking regularly.
Your first visit
What to bring
On your first appointment with us please come to our office 10-15 minutes before your appointment time. This will allow you to complete a new patient information form. Also remember to bring in a list of any medications you regularly take along with your health insurance information. If your dentist has given you a copy of recent x-rays please bring them as well.
What to expect
Your doctor will begin by reviewing your medical history along with any concerns you or your dentist may have. Then we’ll perform an examination of your jaw, mouth, and gums. We may also take X-rays if needed.
After the examination your doctor will diagnose and explain your condition and provide you with treatment options. This information will also be sent to your dentist. We can also provide an estimate of your treatment costs and send them to your health insurance company.
